Baseball Prospectus Future Shock

Baseball Prospectus’ new Future Shock column features a few NL Central prospects.

Matt Adams, 1B – STL (AAA)

…after going deep in Thursday’s opener, he hit another on Friday and just missed a third, and after initially getting an off day on Saturday, he ended up providing a pinch-hit three-run shot in the ninth inning.

Jed Bradley, LHP – MIL (High-A)

…struck out seven over 6 1/3 shutout innings while allowing three hits and a walk.

Tony Cingrani, LHP – CIN (High-A)

Making his season debut on Sunday, Cingrani continued to dominate at a much higher level and in one of baseball’s top hitting parks, firing six one-hit innings while striking out five and walking one.

I’m hoping Adams can make losing Pujols a LITTLE easier… obviously can’t approach what Pujols provided, but if Adams can at least be a legitimate everyday 1st-division starter with sufficient pop at 1st…. I’ll take it
