The sound of a 1-year old child crying in the other room while I try to get a post together tells me that posting multiple times per day is not realistic.
Here’s a few quick tidbits from yesterday and this morning.
- Cubs call up Rodrigo Lopez. MLB yawns.
I jinxed the Cardinals by mentioning they had a chance at a perfect 162-0 season yesterday in yesterday’s preview, and they promptly got spanked by the Brewers and Zack Greinke. Milwaukee was a 6-0 shutout winner with Greinke going 7 innings, allowing 4 hits, walking none, and striking out 7. Not bad.
The Pirates got another nice start – this time from Jeff Karstens – holding off the Phillies for a 2-1 lead in 10 innings. That’s 2 runs in allowed in as many games for Pittsburgh in the All-Pennsylvania Series.
The Astros ruined Jamie Moyer’s historic start with a 7-3 win. Moyer allowed 3 earned runs in 5 innings of work. Lucas Harrell went 7 shutout innings for Houston.
The Cubs got off to an 0-2 start by blowing another lead late yesterday. Kerry Wood recorded two quick outs in the 8th and then blew up again. Carlos Marmol poured gasoline on the fire and gave the Washington Nationals a 2-0 start.
