Game Previews for April 6

It’s a short schedule day, as the day following Opening Day always is.  Let’s take a look at what’s on tap in the NL Central.

CARDINALS (1-0) @ BREWERS (0-0)
3:10 PM CT
Yovani Gallardo takes the bump for the Brewers.  I attended the 1st Annual SABR Analytics Conference a couple of weeks ago (NERDS UNITE!) and, depending on who you listened to, Gallardo is either the most overrated pitcher in baseball or he’s going to win the NL Cy Young Award this year.  This first start should go a long way towards proving neither side correct.

Rockies (0-0) @ ASTROS (0-0)
6:05 PM CT
We only have 162 games left to enjoy the Astros’ presence in the NL Central.  That doesn’t include postseason play, of course, so… ya, 162 games seems about right.
